But we spent a few minutes talking how the mob mentality moved from the streets of Vancouver to social media.
Vancouver was outraged by the riots and took to Social Media to tag pictures and video and report the rioters to the police. This was a great use of social media to identify people committing crimes. But it went further than this. It crossed a line when people who weren’t even present were shamed and threatened for what their family members did. Andrew says that crosses the line and Bob agrees. @Twisted_Majic (Gamer Maven) brings up some good points about going back to the days of the wild west.
Bob talks about how he shot a video of the riot aftermath and he said he was able to get those shots because he has previous experience as a journalist and was able to get close. Hat Maven said Bob was naked ( and therefore invisible) and that is how he got that footage.
Hat Maven says the mob mentality may take over The Bunker Project and lower all our IQ’s if any more people show up for the podcast… big turnout this week.
Andrew makes a final point about all the volunteers that showed up the next day to clean up the city and the the signing of the plywood as well as the police car that was covered in sticky notes saying thank you!
