The Bunker Project Year and Review:

We talk about last years “year in review” episode where Andrew had no voice… recorded in Studio 604 over a bottle of Whiskey and Overproof Sake.

We remember doing a few episodes of The Bunker Project at Studio 604 when the J-Lounge didn’t work out for us. We recorded a couple episodes in Andrew’s apartment before moving onto the St. Regis bar while we waited for the Bunker Bar to be renovated and renamed The Den.
The Cocktail Maven introduced Bob to The Dark and Stormy Night drink at that show.

We talk about why we love doing the show at The Den.

Bob complains that Andrew is way behind on the fireball shots.

Bob brings up the lockers where we store our gear… and the internet we installed.

Digression on Mobilicity vs Telus and the wireless communications industry.

Andrew says The Bunker Project doesn’t support Drinking and Driving… and although we have a few beers on the show we don’t drive home.

Andrew mentions the time The Car Maven took him for a test drive in the Honda S2000.

Andrew remembers how The Hat Maven sounded off on our facebook page that we are talking too much DIY web development and we need to talk about professional developers like him… so Bob called him out to the show and he hasn’t missed an episode since.

Andrew brings up the Vitamin B patch for hangover prevention.

Some confusion… over what season we are on?

The Game Maven has done some cool projects this year… he drinks the black beer now. Great Santa and Elvis impersonator. Created an app at startup weekend. Social Media consulting… working on designing games. And even plays them now and then.
And he is considering to start a podcast show himself.

Andrew talks about the pub crawls where they used to drink fireball on the bus between pubs.

The German Maven joined us this year and recently headed back to Germany… she may be joining us on a Google Hangout in a future episode. We talk about the Bait and Switch tactic we used to get her to join The Bunker Show.

We look back at 2011 and some of the other Bunker Project Mavens.

The Twitter Maven is transforming to The App Maven – very cool mobile apps.

The Insurance Maven joined us this year and is doing some great networking and promotion using social media.

The Art Maven joined us again last week after taking a break while studying for her financial services exam. She totally kills it on the mic now.

The Drunk Maven joined us a few times this year and each time was quite memorable.

The Conspiracy Maven joined us this year although he wanted to change his Maven name to something else.
He had a flash run in with The Hat Maven in an episode.

Andrew goes on a digression about the movie In The Name Of The Father…

Favourite Maven Quote of the year: “Steve has been uploaded to the iCloud” – Game Maven

Andrew’s favourite show of the year – The one at the St. Regis Hotel. It was Astrid’s (The German Maven) first bunker show.

Social Media Week happened in Vancouver and Jason Bax came to The Bunker Show with a camera crew and recorded an interview at the show. Where is the video?

Andrew was gone for 4 weeks in France this year and Mohammed (a developer) joined us on a hangout… very cool.

Wix.com sponsored the show this year… thanks to Wix.com and Arik (Optimizer Maven).

The Vancouver Stanley Cup Riots happened this year… we talk about that.

The Recording Maven joined us for a couple shows this year. He lost his podcast co-host to cancer this year and hasn’t found another partner for the show. He may be joining us at The Bunker Show for more episodes in 2012.

The PR Maven (The Twitter Maven’s business partner) joined us this year for many episodes. She is no stranger to podcasting and ran her own Blog Talk Radio show for a while. Andrew mentions why he doesn’t like Blog Talk Radio… according to Dave Jackson at www.theschoolofpodcasting.com BTR is less than half of AM Radio quality. Andrew likes Dave’s BTR quality comparison he did on one of his podcasting shows.

Bob says thanks to everyone that showed up, whether they have Mavenhood (official or unofficial) or not.

Research Maven – Allan Middleton
Tristan – The Cocktail Maven
Kurt – The Hat Maven
Bonnie – Twitter / App Maven
Ken – Voice Over Maven
James – Game Maven
Arik – Optimizer Maven
Doug – Video Maven
Anil – MLM Maven

Andrew mentions what we are doing with The Bunker Project Podcast.
We are launching a Canadian Podcast Network – talkingbusiness.ca

The Bunker Project will be on the network – marked explicit (because there is alcohol and some profanities occur)
– no editing!
The Business Book Talk show will join the network.

And a few shows will be added to the network as we go along.

See you next week… same Bunker Time, same Bunker station.
