The Bunker Project Show 61 Notes:

Bob is looking forward to episode 69 for some reason. We start off the show with a black beer refill… nice!

We were planning on talking about iOS 5 and Ice Cream Sandwich… but listen to the show to find out what happened.

We start out with the round table introductions.

Bonnie Sainsbury – bsainsbury on twitter
Bonnie won a pink bracelet by liking the jewelry people on facebook. She is also accepting donations so she can buy the new Nexus phone… she accepts denominations of $20 or more.

Marilynn Anderson is in the house as well. She suggests Bonnie should offer a tweet out to the charity of their choice. Good ROI for the money… 43000 followers. Bonnie has follows the numbers to see how well she in engaged with her twitter peeps.

Anil is new to the podcast… he is the MLM dude.
He is just starting to get into social media. He has hired Bob to brand him as the Network Marking Guy. His website is anilnow.com and his girlfriends call him chocolate delight.

Margaret is next… she is the insurance gal.
bc_insurancegal on the twitter.
She just launched Burnaby insurance gal on youtube.

Ian Nethercott is at the Bunker Project this week as well. He helps car dealerships to sell more cars. He talks about Ford being very successful with social media. Watch for them on a social network near you! He talks about some of the great campaigns that Ford has used… but on the mobile side, they aren’t there yet. Ian used to steal customers from other dealerships by becoming the mayor of all the dealerships.

Ian brings up Forcast – check-ins in advance!

We unmute the hangout to let them introduce themselves.

Ken (the voice maven) is joining us on Google + and talks about what they do with social media. www.beelinked.com

Nicolas is on G+ joining us from New Jersey… we talk about his headband from Comic Con.
He talks about Just Dance 3… Game Maven tells us how to game the system.

Arik (Wix Maven) kicks in about why he didn’t pick up chicks at Comic Con.

James (the Game Maven) is smoking a fake cigarette. Cars vs Cigarettes?
He eats, breathes and sleeps games – hence the name Game Maven. He has been doing some work with Start Up weekend. A 54-hour company creation weekend. Pretty cool.

A new guest joins the Bunker Project Hangout from Tokyo… Bob jumps in because he used to live in Tokyo. We fill her in about what The Bunker Project is all about. She works in advertising in Tokyo… she grew up in New Jersey (go Nicolas).

She is bringing her colleges into the hangout.

Back to Just Dance 3 again ??? Bob Saap? David Hasselhoff?

Arik starts to introduce himself but Bob starts speaking in Japanese to our Tokyo guests.

More people join us from Japan… they are taking over the hangout! 🙂

Bob asks Arik what he has been up to. He talks about the Online Business Optimization Meetup he is running.

More people are joining us from the Tokyo advertising agency.

Bob yells at them in Japanese.

Bob asks what they are doing for Social Media in Tokyo. They prefer twitter over facebook.

@mercedeath on twitter.
www.mercedeath.com

meredeath is his band name. Pop rock band.
He also has a youtube channel with 100 videos on there.

Bob asks if she is allowed to go drinking with the clients. She said who would say no to that!

Ian asks if we can get subtitles for Bob so we can understand what he is saying in Japanese.

Jersey boy says he knows Japanese…
“Domo arigato Mr. Roboto”

Bonnie talks to us about her Asus tab experience for two weeks.
She left her laptop at home and only used the tablet. She wanted to not only consume content but produce it as well. She was able to actually use the tablet for two weeks using a number of apps to produce audio and video content, create documents and more. She used skype, dropbox, and other tools. At $450 in Canada, it is a good value. It slides open with a built-in stand and keyboard.

It has a widescreen display and it is fast and responsive. It has an 8-hour long battery life so she never had to turn it off. She was using A-Cast for podcasts and Audible for books.

Andrew asks what the rating is… she will give it 4.999 stars because nothing gets five stars.
Andrew asks if it has an Asus overlay like HTC Sense or Motorola Motoblur.

Marilynn had the eee pc. She liked it because it was so light and small. Boots up fast and charges extremely fast. She had some difficulty with skype and google hangouts. It gets very warm on the bottom (Anil says he does too).

Marilynn and Bonnie will be doing written reviews on www.rapidtimenews.com and www.womentalkingtech.com.

Ian says it sounds like Bonnie should be selling tablets.

Ken says he has been using an Asus Transformer and says it is a screaming success. He loves the send out note app. You can bring in images and make notes on the image… move the images around.

Bob brings up a new site… Get Glue.
James and Bob like Get Glue better than IMDB because it is free to talk about your favourite movies and shows.

We’ve all suggested the Bunker Project be added as a show. Hopefully, we’ll be on there soon.

To suggest the Bunker Show follow these instructions.

James talks about how it works. He loves it.

Bob brings up Gary Vaner Chuck is retiring from his show at wine library. He is doing a daily news gig now. He said in a recent show that you need to learn to break through the noise. James brings up a good point about how to break through the noise. Focused approach with great content.

Margaret says you can be an expert but you need to make it fun and engaging in breaking through.

The Supreme Court of Canada has ruled that hyperlinks to defamatory material on the internet are not defamation… someone said that means we a show! Bob explains the problem with this is.

Ken says it should be like television… if you don’t like it, turn it off!

Lisa Lee joins us for the end of the show.
She doesn’t want to interrupt our regularly scheduled programming. Bob asks if she is Canadian because she seems polite.

– Wix headbands would be cool.

Lisa is hailing from the San Fran Bay Area. Lisa works for Google and develops google apps. Everyone thanks her for Google Goggles. She talks about a company that put QR Codes on the top of buildings so google satellite view would pick them up. Very cool. We talk about QR codes and thank Lisa from Google for joining us.

Bob asks Lisa if she can send us a picture of her posing next to the ice cream sandwich statue.

@lisadonchak is her twitter name

And the music kicks in… Thanks to Wix.com and to Black Beer for tasting so good.

Andrew asks for an honest review on iTunes.. rate the Bunker Project and get us back to #1.
