The Bunker Project Show 57 Notes:

We start off the show talking about what is gong on during Social Media Week in Vancouver… Bob has been roaming around all the venues and doing special reports.

We do our round table (rectangle) introductions…

Bonnie – Twitter Maven talks about the events she spoke at…
Margaret – Insurance Maven… wearing a Wix.com shirt…

We talk about the website Andrew built using Wix and how he attended a critique Meetup where they came up with some great suggestions for improving the site. Andrew’s site and Owen Clarke’s site were the victims this time around…

Andrew showed Twisted_Majic his new (under construction) website and he said that he likes the old one better!

Margaret says her favourite platform is twitter.
@bc_insurancegal

Bog asks if she has a hat…

Andrew asks about the difficulty of getting approval in the insurance industry for doing Social Media and websites.

Doug Hall is here… Video is his favourite tool. He likes to do video email, video blogs, video conferencing, video walls, video newsletters and more…

Andrew says you can repurpose the videos as video podcasts…

Doug talks about some cool stuff his company is developing.

Ian, the Car Maven is here… talking about cars. General Motors is the largest car company in the world and VW is on an upswing.

Bob likes to play punch buggy…

Bob says that the new VW has a penis on top…

Andrew says that Bob isn’t scared to use the word penis like other podcasters…. its in the dictionary so why not.

The pen company that created a website pen island .com…

They didn’t read the domain enough before publishing the site.

And Laura Lee Walker is here. She’s a student but has a marketing background. She has her undergrad degree and is working on a certificate at BCIT.

Bonnie mentions her experience with Audacity… she said it wasn’t a good one.

And two more ladies enter the room and now the guys are out numbered…

Ken joins the google hangout and we have a mix minus problem… so we stop for A HALF HOUR to fix it… the mix minus was fine. It was the Mixlr app running in the background and feeding the audio in a loop.

Bob talks about the special reports he did with the Marantz recorder.

We are in Social Media Week still here at the Bunker Project – even though it is over by the time this show is published.

Bob talks about the events that were held. His favourite venue was ING bank where he got drunk with the bank manager…

Raincoaster takes the mic and we mention Yellowknife… oops.

Bob makes a joke about how it must be the only place where people join a google hangout with a bunch of people that are actually in the same room…

A camera crew is here in The Bunker Project to find out what the show is all about. He is intimidated by all the equipment in the room…

A little talk about hummingbird604…

Raincoaster’s favourite Social Media story is when she was moderating the panel at the Social Good Summit. It was a great panel… these people get up in the morning and change peoples lives. They raised a ton of food for the food back. All put together using social media.

Playing hockey on the helipad?

Laura Lee gets called out for her great work with Social Gaming.

Doug says the whole week was very educational and had a great feeling.

James was at a great conference all about wireless technology and beer. James is dressed up to fit the part… Celebrating Wavefront combined with Just Here For The Beer!

We pause for a minute to help set up the camera crew to get the audio from the mixing board into the video camera.

We pause again to fix the audio in the camera.

Jason Bax takes over and interviews the Bunker Crew about what is the Bunker Project. He is impressed that it actually feels like being in a bunker at the Bunker Project.

Jason asks us “What is the Bunker Project”? He said it looks like a podcasting geek up. James said more like a technology mashup.

Bob says The Bunker Show is a Social Media Experiment…

We talk about the history of The Bunker Project.
The content of the show gets distributed through iTunes and the other podcatchers…

And Ken kicks in to make sure he is part of the video.

Jason said this is the most highly technical room he has seen in a long time. He asks how is it different from radio?

Bob says you don’t need the million dollar episode. Andrew explains that podcasting is based on RSS feeds which syndicate the content across multiple platforms all around the world.

Jason mentions how he doesn’t hear many DJ’s on a lot of radio stations these days. Bob talks about how a lot of stations automate.

Andrew says that talk radio definitely needs a host…

Bob says a large portion of the demographic of podcast listeners are well-educated professionals and prefer podcasts because they are educational and super niche.

Jason does another roundtable to find out what they like about the Bunker Project… why are we here?

Bonnie comes to The Bunker Project because she has so much fun, and Marilyn comes to learn and Doug says it is quite an experience. Raincoaster nails a punchline home that Jason sets up. She is here to leverage the Bunker Project platform for fame!

Cathy Browne says she is very afraid of podcasting and wants to overcome her fear… she is focussing on photography.

Ian loves the format of the Bunker Project. Ian likes sharing ideas with people and pushing the boundaries of what to do.

Laura Lee is here because she loves the potential Social Media has for doing good.

James – Elvis or Kermit – is here because he wants to solidify his stature as an expert…

Ken on Google Plus…

We finish off the interview just as Matt joins us on Google Plus from North Carolina… We try and convert him over to Wix.com – The easiest way to make a website…

And that is the end of the show….

See you next week… same Bunker Time, same Bunker station.
