28th of January Egypt shut off the Internet including texting.
However it did not cut it off 100% because of model dial-up and satellite phones. We do a quick interview with one of our guests who had relatives there when it all went down.

We talk about China and suppression and then get into the Metered Internet debate in Canada. You can send a letter for free if it is going to parliament. We talk about how essay it is to burn lots of bandwidth.

Canada is mentioned in TWIT because of the Metered Internet Fight up here. The hosts said that they would blow through 25GB in a week. The interesting point was what about the speeds that we get. Do we actually get the bandwidth that we are paying for.

IPV4 and IPV6. Basically all websites have a number (ivp4) but just ran out. No one is ready for IPV6 because of servers and some other technical hitches. What does this mean? It will probably only effect people with older computers and systems.

Nokia has had a bunch of time to develop Android apps because all the other developers have been shut out till now. (1 day after the show was recorded Nokia signed a Microsoft phone 7 deal).
