Podcasting is red hot right now.

There have recently been a ton of celebrities who have joined the podcasting ranks. A few weeks ago, world famous rapper, Ice Tea announced a new podcast.

Some other successful celebrity podcasters include Joe Rogan, Ricky Gervais and Adam Carolla. The reason they love podcasting is because they can connect with their fans in a more intimate way and strengthen their brand and marketability. And they own the relationship… not some studio or producer. It is their own show. And when you control the feed, you control the potential of the channel.

Last week, no doubt due to the success of Stone Cold Steve Austin and Chris Jericho’s podcast shows the WWE has decided to start their own official show to promote the lead up to Wrestlemania.

Steve Austin’s podcast and Chris Jericho’s show were created without the WWE’s involvement and according to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter they are interested in doing more podcasts in the future.

Steve Austin has partnered with Podcast One a progressive podcast network and platform dedicated to bring the real fortune 500 advertising money into podcasting.

As more and more companies and people of influence join the podcast ranks it will only help to push podcasting further into the mainstream.
