Bob says the show will be a bit of a free for all because Andrew couldn’t make it tonight because he is at the Bon Jovi concert.
Bob wants to know which drink makes you more creative… beer or coffee.

Paul the Rock God says beer makes him more creative… coffee just gives him the jitters.
NoziPaul says that beer is definitely his creative juice.
J-Dean says that coffee is his productivity beverage but beer is great for creativity. He uses both equally.
Stephanie says that beer isn’t the reason for the creativity but rather the environment that we usually drink beer. The inspiration comes from the people and the atmosphere that you are in and not from the beverage itself!
Margaret says that early morning creativity is definitely coffee but later in the afternoon it would be beer.
Bonnie said that although she doesn’t drink she votes for beer.
Sanj says that in the morning its coffee and in the evening Irish Coffee!
Ken doesn’t drink coffee except when he is working… so when he is working he votes for coffee. He doesn’t drink and work so he’s going with the coffee.
Simon King (special guest co-host) doesn’t like how we are fighting over which drink is the best because it is kind of like picking a favorite child.
Bob asks Simon about being a comedian.
Simon talks about his childhood acting and how he discovered stand-up comedy and never went back.
Simon is confused about Social Media. He has Twitter meltdowns and people say they follow him just to see the meltdowns.
Bonnie said he should be the same person on Twitter as he is on stage.
Simon said he uses Twitter as a writing tool for his jokes as well.
Bob asks about what happens if there is a tragedy in his life and has to go on stage?
Simon said when his Grandmother died he was making fun of her on stage a few days later but that is how he deals with grief. And other comics understand that.
Simon recommends going into the emergency room and twitch because you’ll get free shots.
Simon thinks Bonnie should weaponize her tweets by sending all her followers to No Frills to grab turkeys.
Paul the Rock God asks Simon how he manages his fans. With a newsletter or fan club, etc?
Simon uses his website and facebook fan page account to communicate with all his fans and followers. He said occasionally it gets weird and he can take a step back if needed.
Simon says there are two types of comics in the world… internal and external. Most comics are internal and talk about themselves in relation to the world. Simon says he is an external comic and talks about the world in relation to him. So, therefore his act isn’t about his life as it is with other comics. Simon likes to talk about politics and current events.
He likes to use Twitter to communicate to his fans where he is going to be performing.
Nozi Paul believes Canadians have a problem celebrating Canadian comedians. He gives a great example. Simon agrees and says that we are embarrassed to really promote a comic unless they make it big elsewhere first.
Simon says that there are a ton of great comics in Vancouver and similar talent is much more successful in bigger markets.
Nozi Paul said it is unbelievable how many people in Vancouver don’t go see live comedy.
Bonnie asks why Simon has to go on tour? Why not do internet comedy? Does it have to be live?
Simon says that audience feedback and the ability to make minute adjustments to his act as he reads the room. But without that feedback, the show isn’t as funny because it isn’t tailored to a specific audience.
Stephanie asks Simon if he engages his community on social media before a show? Does he tweet about where he is going to perform and then chat with people in that city and build up some buzz for the show?
If he has the time before the show he will try to communicate with fans before the show.
Bonnie recommends that Simon should do Vine videos and do 6-second comedy blasts.
In the past, you had to have an agent in order to get any exposure but now with social marketing and new media, the comic has the ability to get seen and create their own public profile on their own.
