The ATR2100x microphone replaces the popular ATR2100-USB as it is now discontinued. The ATR2100x-USB has a USB-C plug (instead of mini-USB) and has an improved on/off switch.

The atr2100x-usb is a versatile content creation microphone, designed for live performance, podcasts, and voiceover use.

The ATR2100x is an extensible microphone. This rugged handheld microphone offers two outputs: a USB output that connects to your computer or other device for digital recording, and an XLR output that connects to a mixer or audio interface’s conventional microphone input for use in a podcast recording studio.

You can start podcasting with the ATR2100x and record directly into your computer. Then as you expand your podcast studio equipment setup you can keep using the same mic with your new mixer or audio interface!

The atr2100x-usb also offers a high-quality analog-to-digital converter (24-bit, up to 192 kHz) for excellent fidelity, and a headphone jack with level control for direct monitoring from the microphone.

Its cardioid polar pattern reduces pickup of unwanted sounds from the sides and rear. The mic includes an on/off switch and comes with two 2 m (6. 6′) USB cables (USB-C to USB-C, USB-C to USB-A) and a 3 M (9. 8′) xlrf-to-xlrm cable for maximum versatility.

A sturdy tripod desk stand with folding legs is also included for use on tabletops.

NOTE: It is nice that the microphone comes with a little tripod and may come in handy for travel and portability. But for everyday use it would be better to have a proper microphone stand that fits the ATR2100X. Otherwise you will be hunched over while recording your show.
